Phi Kappa teams up with Roosevelt Institution and Demosthenian for Occupy Wall Street Debate!

Brother Tyler on Friday, November 4, 2011 The Roosevelt Institution, in conjunction with the Phi Kappa Literary Society and the Demosthenian Literary Society, will be hosting an open debate on the Occupy Wall Street Protests. Join us for the resolution, “Be It Hereby Resolved: Occupy Wall Street will have beneficial effects on the future of the United States.” Following the debate, Roosevelt will host a National Issues Forum on policy effects of the protests. Come eat dinner and discuss this highly salient and interesting topic with us!
The first affirmative as well as the first negation will be presented by the Roosevelt Institution; after that, the debate is open to anyone who would like to speak. Anyone taking the floor will be geiven 3 minutes to talk; the meeting will operate under Robert’s Rules of Order. Guests are encouraged (but not required) to speak!
The event will be held on Tuesday, November 15th from 6-8PM in Journalism 501. To RSVP, e-mail ugaroosevelt@gmail.com with “RSVP” in the subject line.
