Ignorance v. Luxury

This week, it’s all about ignorance versus luxury. Which is worse? Resolution and definitions below.

BIHR, ignorance contributes more to the downfall of a nation than luxury does.

Ignorance: a general unawareness and lack of knowledge, relating to both education levels and to policies

Contributes more: that ignorance is a more significant factor than luxury in leading to decline, but not necessarily the only one

Downfall: a sharp decline in preeminence, prestige, and power on the world or regional stage by a nation

Nation: a sovereign state, esp. the highest level of government

Luxury: a general state of excessive consumption of or focus on material goods, generally accompanied by the overriding goal of making life easier.
