Birthdays & Such

In as much as we value the art of oratory and furthering our minds, we must continue to thrive for at least 190 more years. It’s our 190th birthday! Join us for all the festivities.

Events

Thursday

7:00pm Historical Meeting

In honor of our 190th Birthday, members and guests are strongly encouraged to come in historical dress. Any attire that was appropriate since 1820, our year of inception, is fair game. An historical topic will be debated as the society takes a trip in time to celebrate its birth.

Be It Hereby Resolved: Which is most to be applauded, virtue in a female or education in a male?

Friday

7:00pm Alumni Meeting

Come see our lovely alumni run a meeting just like the olden days.

Saturday

11:30am Croquet on North Campus

Every literary society loves croquet. We are no different.

1:00pm Anniversary Meeting

Be it hereby resolved: Corporations ought to have the same First Amendment Rights as individuals.

Plus, creative writings and orations along with a second, extemporaneous debate will be presented at all of the events that take place in Phi Kappa Hall. We’ll see you there!
